Colleen Ballinger became famous on YouTube in the early 2010s for posting skits and videos. Colleen Ballinger continues to perform as Miranda Sings on tour around the world, wearing her signature red lip gloss. Her videos and behavior were met with controversy over the last couple of years, in the middle of her marriages.

Colleen Ballinger’s lawyers address blackface allegations on July 5, 2023
Paige Christie, a Twitter user, posted on July 5, 2023 a clip of a live Miranda Sings performance with the caption “I’m going to need someone to explain to me the black on Miranda Sings face …”” In the clip which was bonus content for Miranda Sings 2018 book My Diarrhe (My Diarrhe), Ballinger, as Miranda Sings, is dancing to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies”, while wearing dark makeup on her face. Many people reacted on social media, including Dr. Sholamas Shogbaminu, an academic, activist, and author of “This is Why I Resist: Do not define my Black Identity,” who tweeted that “Colleen ballinger tells her world she’s racist with her full breast.” Imagine if you were to perform a Beyonce tune in Blackface, and the audience laughed & was entertained. These White people are aware of what they’re doing. Racists are racially motivated.”
The law firm Berk Brettler which represents Ballinger told Variety that before the “Single Ladies'” performance Ballinger sang “As long as You’re Mine”, a song from “Wicked”, with Oliver Tompsett who was a star of the show. She also painted her face to look like Elphaba, the main character in the musical.

Colleen’s ex-husband tweets support for victims
Joshua David Evans, Colleen Evans’ ex-husband, tweeted on June 28, 2023: “This was my reality whenever I disagreed with Colleen & her actions and rhetoric between 2009-2016. I was also gaslit. I was made feel as if I was the only problem. “Any pain I felt, was a nuisance and was minimized.”
They were married between 2015 and 2016. He continued, “I don’t want to use this as the catalyst for a YouTube return.” It’s not safe for me. I’m beyond that. I’m not here for money. I don’t need to earn any money from this. “That is disgusting & I don’t like it at all.”

Colleen Ballinger posts Youtube apology video on June 28, 2023
Colleen Ballinger uploaded a video entitled hi. Colleen Vlogs, her Youtube channel. She introduced the 10-minute clip by saying, “Some people say things about me that are just not true.” She went on to say that, “Even if my team strongly advised me to not say what I was going to say, they never said that I couldn’t say what I wanted to say.”
She sang, on her ukulele: “Thought that you wanted me take accountability/but that’s not your mob mentality/your goal is to ruin life of person you despise/while you dramatize and monetize your lies.” In the chorus, she called the allegations against her “the toxic gossiptrain.”
She said, “I know you were disappointed with my little shitty song / you wanted me say I was in the wrong 100% / but I’m sorry I won’t take that route of admitting lies and rumors you made up to gain clout.”
She continued, “I’m not even a groomer. I’m just a loser who didn’t get that I shouldn’t be responding to fans. I’m also not a predator as many of you believe. I only made a joke about a fart five years ago.”
The video was met with a lot backlash almost immediately on social media. You mean to tell that she wrote and rehearsed this and then sat down and filmed it, but still thought that was a great idea? One person commented, “Girl… you’re delusional!” Franchesca Ramsey, a writer from Twitter, said that “Colleen thought singing ‘I’m not groomer I’m a loser’ was a cute response to the SERIOUS accusations made against her. It’s beyond sick.”

June 14, 2023: TikTok of Colleen Ballinger using minors in comedy set becomes viral
On June 13, 2023 A TikTok from Ballinger opened up the legs of an audience member during a Yoga challenge. Becky, the person in the video, made a TikTok describing how she felt uncomfortable and sexually violated on stage as a teenager. Becky claimed that “Colleen exploited me as a minor for money and entertainment, and she did not protect my security at the show.”

Adam McIntyre posts another video about his relationship with Colleen Ballinger on June 7, 2023
Adam McIntyre uploaded a video on June 7, 2023 titled “my relation with colleen Ballinger”. In the video of nearly two hours, Adam claimed that Colleen had “groomed him” along with several teens back in the 2010s when she was in her late 30s.
McIntyre shows several screenshots from group chats, as well as direct messages involving Ballinger. She was alleged to have opened up about marriage issues, her sex life, and trauma. Ballinger allegedly asked him to reveal his virginity, and then asked the group cha for inappropriate videos.
McIntyre posted the video of Ballinger putting a tampon into her mouth to Twitter. The caption read, “the ‘weenies’ groupchat consisting mostly of 13-17 year-olds that i was part of with Colleen had an inside joke about periods or something shit. She sent us this video and we all had to buy tampons to reenact it in the group chat. It was so fucking strange”

Colleen Ballinger’s first apology video posted on May 12, 2020
Colleen Ballinger uploaded a video apology on Youtube titled “addressing Everything” on May 12, 2020.
She apologized first for a video she made with her sister in which they pretended to be Latinx women. They admitted that the characters “were completely based on racial stereotyping.” She says she is ashamed that she ever thought it was ok. “I was a sheltered teen who was stupid, ignorant, and extremely culturally insensitive.”
She apologized and admitted that her comments about an obese woman she had sat beside on a plane 12 years prior to the video were horrible. “That’s not the woman I am now.”
Ballinger apologized for a joke that she made about having a dog put down because it bit her when she was a child. She said, “even today as a woman of 33 years old” she still feels guilty about the death of her dog.
“I am deeply sorry to anyone who has been hurt or offended because of the statements I made in my youth. She said, “I hope you can all see that the woman I am today is far different from the one I was 10 years ago.”
She also clarified McIntyre’s claim that the lingerie was sent by saying she didn’t immediately respond to McIntyre’s concerns “to respect the wishes” of the teenager’s mother. She only shared screenshots from their previous interactions, but only those involving adults since McIntyre at the time was a minor. She says that it was a big joke among the fans. Later, she added, “I thought at the time this was the same as all the other weird things I send my fans in jokes.” In retrospect, I realize how stupid I was. “I should never have sent that.”
Ballinger said that the oversight was an oversight during the approval process. “I knew that I shouldn’t have let anyone else tweet on my behalf. I should have carefully read everything that Miranda was going to say. I told him that I loved and admired him for his work. It was my mistake, not his,”
She promises to “continue learning” as a person at the end of her video.

Adam McIntyre Creates First Video About Colleen Balinger on April 28, 2020
YouTuber Adam McIntyre posted a video on April 28, 2020 entitled “colleen Ballinger, Stop Lying.” He claimed that Ballinger did not pay him for sharing her content on Twitter and sent him underage lingerie.

Sponsors pull out of Colleen’s podcast on June 16, 2023
TMZ reported on June 16, 2023 that several brands had pulled out of sponsoring Colleen’s RELAX podcast. Colleen and Erik Stocklin were unable to work together due to the controversy.
OneSkin informed the gossip website they had severed their ties with Colleen. We were aware of this and decided to end the relationship. This behavior is disgusting and we don’t condone it or support it.
A second sponsor, the telemedicine company Zocdoc has also announced that they will not be running ads on her podcast.
