The series was nominated and won over 20 Primetime Emmy Awards. Goldstein was originally a writer for the show. However, his affinity with the gruff Roy Kent led him to audition uninvited and he won the role. “My favorite scene is when Roy is in a car park, episode 5, and is accidentally scared by Keeley’s car. Goldstein told People that he thought that scene may have sealed the deal. It’s either [co-creators Joe Kelley & Jason Sudeikis] didn’t bother to look any further or they couldn’t be bothered.

According to an interview in the New York Times, Goldstein felt “devastated” after Lasso ended its three seasons. Goldstein said, “It was a wonderful labor but it was still a labor.” He’s now preparing for life after Lasso. This includes returning to stand-up comedy. The shows he did before he became famous are however kept under lock-and-key. Goldstein said to GQ UK that he made some decisions which, later on, proved to be wrong. These have haunted him. Goldstein said, “I made shows before people knew who I am and I didn’t plan ahead. I just did what I thought was right at the moment.” Unfortunately, I cannot show them. I am very proud of my work.

Will there be another Ted Lasso season?
Answer: Most likely, no. Variety reported before the third season was released on Apple TV+ that the press would not be allowed to question the cast at the premiere about a possible season 4, as publicists had stressed that no decisions have been made. Jason Sudeikis, the creator and star of the show, has said that there will only be three seasons.

Sudeikis said to Entertainment Tonight: “I mean, this is how we wrote it. We wanted to close this chapter. So much has changed in the hiring of writers and casting of it. It’s all based on what’s happening at the moment, like, “Oh, we’d love this to happen but, oh no, it’s pouring rain.” You have to just go with it. The whole thing has been wonderful and harmonious but the original plan was to make it last three years. “I mean, we never know what people are going to think, even if we have the chance to do it.”
Brett Goldstein also was unsure about the future of the show, but made jokes about the fate of the character. He told Deadline that “everyone is on a trip this season, and who knows how it will end?” “Who knows? I know, because I have seen it, but you will find out. He also said, “Here is the truth: five of the main characters die at the end.” It’s because Jason may not be open to Ghost Ted. I pitched this to him and he said that he would think about it, but I am not sure what Apple will think of the idea. “I think we have done a great job as a team of creatives in surprising people. I don’t believe anyone thought that Season 4 would feature a ghost Ted roaming around the lockers.”
“I love to play Roy Kent. “I have pitched an idea for Season 4 to Jason, which he is currently considering,” he says in a deadpan tone. “He is haunting the corridors but he is just trying to inspire.” The team’s journey is to eventually believe in ghosts. Jason claims he’s just thinking about it.
